Chopping Trees

That done, for a brief moment, I wondered what I should do at my homestead. It was overrun by trees and saplings along with wildflowers and grass. My farm animals had already been harvested and I knew that if I as much as looked at a goal, I wouldn’t feel inclined towards clearing my homestead.
Then, I remembered the welcome screen, which told me that I would get bonus wood while chopping trees. That was the cincher for me. And I decided to chop some trees. But before I could do that I decided to harvest the cherry tree, which had been left along for quite some time.

After that, I decided to first chop the saplings and the small trees. I chopped two of the saplings I could see and two trees that needed two chops each to be cleared. Sighing in relief, I then started to chop the large tree, which required 12 chops.
And did you know that that is the maximum a tree on FrontierVille go? Well, most trees grow so that they need 8 or 12 chops to be cleared. Anyway, I began to chop this large tree and viola, there was a bear on my homestead.

Since the bear appeared only when I chopped the large tree, I guess that bears appear when large trees are chopped. I did some reading up and realized that bears often appear when large trees, which require anything between 8 to 12 chops are cut. But what do I do about the bear? That happens to be another post.

I haven’t actually tried to open this in Opera but it works well in both IE and Firefox. Maybe you can use Firefox instead.
